Press releases and public service announcements

The Marketing and Communications staff will send out press releases and public service announcements (PSAs). These are run at the discretion of the media and often generate interest in an event or topic leading to additional coverage. In an effort to target your information to appropriate audiences, the Marketing and Communications Office maintains a database of all area media outlets and will target your information to the appropriate outlets. When press releases are published and PSAs are aired on the radio or TV, there is no charge. Newspapers and TV and radio stations like to receive information about two weeks in advance of the event. Please send us your material well in advance to allow for editing and distribution. Also, the Marketing and Communications Office has a contract with a newsclip agency; therefore, all newsclips pertaining to the college (except for advertisements and sports) are sent to this department. Contact Kristen Cyr at pr@ccri.edu.

Requests for coverage

If a program, activity or event is something that newspapers or television may be likely to cover, the Marketing and Communications staff will send out a request for television coverage to assignment editors or contact individual newspaper reporters to cover the event or do a feature story. There is no guarantee that we will get such coverage. There’s a lot of competition for time and space out there! Contact Kristen Cyr at pr@ccri.edu.

Paid advertising

The Marketing and Communications Office reserves a limited portion of its budget for academic departments that wish to request program specific ads. Contact Kristen Cyr at pr@ccri.edu.

CCRI Highlights

The tab is an 8-page full-color promotional mailer that is sent to approx. 250,000 households each semester. To request an ad placement, article or listing in the Highlights, contact Ellen Schulte at pr@ccri.edu.

Course Bulletin

The course bulletin is published each semester. It is mailed to current students (past three semesters) and available on campus. To request an ad placement in the course bulletin, contact Ellen Schulte at pr@ccri.edu. Bulletins are prepared at least two months in advance of registration, so please plan accordingly.
