Threat Assessment Workshops «NEW!

In a proactive attempt to respond to the world around us and ensure the safety of our students, faculty and staff, the college has created a threat assessment program designed to promote communication and awareness of potential dangers to our community. A committee of faculty and staff has been working for the past year to create a program that maintains the educational integrity of the institution, respects individual privacy, balances the needs of the community and maintains confidentiality.

A page has been added to the college’s Web site to more fully explain the mission of the program, identify the committee members, provide resource information and allow for the submission of concerns. The page can be found at www.ccri.edu/threat/.

A series of training sessions for interested faculty to learn more about reducing and identifying risks in the classroom as well how the threat assessment process will work have also been launched. You can sign up for the training sessions at: http://www.ccri.edu/threat/training_form.htm

Training sessions for staff members will be available next semester, but should anyone have any immediate concerns they should not hesitate to go to the Web site or contact the co-chairs of the threat assessment committee, Michael Cunningham or Bob Cipolla.
